What is Symbiosexuality? A Guide to This Emerging Microlabel

Symbiosexuality is a micro label for when someone is attracted to a couple's dynamic, not the two individual members of a couple, specifically their relationship. This might be for a few reasons:

• Maybe they're hashtag couple goals, and you find that inspiring.

• Maybe the way they flirt with each other is something you find really erotic, or

• Maybe you're interested in getting between them and seeing how you can make things hotter.

Bisexual women who are down for threesomes aren't actually all that rare. The REAL unicorns are couples who are in a secure relationship, know how to treat a bi woman with respect, are both hot, and are good at communication, boundaries, and consent.

This Pride month, remember that bisexual women* are human beings with their own unique desires and needs, not your personal playthings to spice up your relationship then discard when you're bored.

Either way, I'm so glad there's finally a label for what I enjoy about being with two people who are super into each other!

*and anyone who is down for a threesome, obviously. I am highlighting this group in particular given that the vast majority of unicorn hunting discourse is about the mistreatment of bi women, and bi women face a unique level of bi- misogyny (biphobia AND misogyny) and objectification.
