How To Tell If Your Friends Support Polyamory

Do your friends not support your polyamorous relationship? Here's how to tell. If your “friends”:

• Are doubting your choices based on their own judgments rather than listening to your desires

• Tell you things like opening up the relationship is a “betrayal” to your partner, even though your partner is 100% happy with everything

• Say “I told you so” when you have a conflict or things don’t work out how you wanted

• Blame all your relationship problems on polyamory, rather than looking at what’s actually happening

• Stop introducing their partners to you because they’re worried they’ll be “influenced” by you or that they’ll cheat with you

• Won’t let you bring more than one partner to an event

Maybe it’s time to get new friends! Being rejected by people who you used to go to for support and not feeling understood really sucks, but sometimes it takes embracing your authentic self to realise who your real friends are.
