Polyamory means you can have more fluidity and flexibility in your relationships and be more open to different types of connection, AND it's okay to have standards for yourself on how you want your relationships to look and feel.

"One person can't meet all of your needs" does NOT mean you should lower your standards just because you have multiple partners.

I have certain expectations that exist across the board in all my connections, and I can recognise that someone else's way of doing polyamory or what they're seeking from dating is completely valid AND not for me. I can do different things with different people but that's not the same thing as being okay with whatever.

Using partners purely as need-filling machines and cobbling together multiple mediocre relationships is called "Frankenpoly" - instead, connect with folks as whole people so you can enjoy multiple independently fulfilling connections.
