A healthy relationship does not mean you never have any conflict. A healthy relationship is one where you can move through conflicts/differences in a productive way, while continuing to respect each other as people no matter the outcome.

When I was dating my ex, I used to proudly crow to other people how we had never had a single fight in 4 years. It wasn't until our relationship started to break down that I realised we hadn't had any fights because both of us were avoiding conflict with each other and not discussing the glaring incompatibilities in our relationship.

Now, I don't have big fights with my current partner either, but we have had healthy disagreements. We aren't afraid to be upset or vulnerable with each other in order to have a productive conversation.

I don't think it's realistic to be happy in your relationship 100% of the time, but I do think it's important to feel safe and respected even in conflict. Working together against the problem rather than seeing your partner as the adversary is key to healthy conflict resolution.
